Good Week for Reality Television
The weekends are pretty dry for reality television until Sunday’s Amazing Race starts up again. With the holidays I was behind a bit in last week’s line up. I chose to hand make a Valentine gift- wow was that some work! 365 Reasons why I love my husband!!!! He will have Valentine’s all year, though.
Anyways, on target with television, this week The Bachelor eliminated another hopeful wife to be. Now, I cheated early on with this show. I kind of regret I did so. Because so far the spoilers have been on target. The sad thing is Jillian has finally grown on me. Molly and Jason just seem so awkward together. But when he talks about Melissa he just goes on and on. Naomi needed to go home. The religion speech really freaked Jason out on the camera or editing job. And it’s very hard to start a partnership with a big difference such as this in the way.
True Beauty was a re-run. That show has such a great premise! Watch beautiful people act like total a**hats! But it’s spoiled by all the shenigans they plot to do. For instance, the week before last when the guy threatened the guard…that wasn’t scripted excerise he was truly just that big of a jerk. That was good television. They sent the girl home but she wasn’t the meanest of the bunch and unless something big changes I think Mr Chippendale will be the winner. No spoiler alert in that statment they just seem to totally adore everything he does, even if it’s bad. Hopefully tommorrow will bring us a better hour.
American Idol selected the top 36. I will be interested in seeing how quickly they narrow this cast down. This is the largest number of live finalists to date. They did a lot better orientating us with the selections this season. Though, I can’t lie I saw a few faces in the line up that made me go, “huh? who are they?” They put those contestants at a HUGE disadvantage with us from day 1. We don’t know them so we don’t vote for them at the starting gate. Oh, and the scandalous Joanna Pacitta has been sent camping before the 36 offically airs. She has been replaced by Felicia Barton. Joanna was the cause of much outrage as she has already had a recording contract with records that were apparently so dull she couldn’t generate enough hype to keep the contract.
Hell’s Kitchen got ousted this week to my dismay. This happens to be one of my favorite in the reality series line up. I can’t wait to see this week when the girl who should have been sent packing for not playing by the rules, quits in the middle of a dinner service. I don’t even remember her name but she came in halfway to 3/4’s way through the punishment for losing the competition. And how fair is it to get the big guy extra transportation, have us viewers saying, “aww, Ramsey’s so awesome.” Then turn around and tell him to go back to the kitchen as soon as his ferry docked!!!!
But, I would have been torn what to watch because CBS started a brand new round of Survior! YAY!!! *cheers very loudly* This has been a favorite of mine since the very first season, it is also courtesy of Survivor that so many of the great reality shows were able to get a chance on the networks. Survivor is one of the longest running reality series out there. Even Idol is only filming its 8th season. Survior did NOT disappoint! What a twist - and they never revealed what happened when Kathy found her second clue or did she find the idol? We won’t need to know since her tribe realized she was a heckuva player during the challenge. She seems a little cuckoo upstairs but she has a lot of common sense and does work hard. I would like to see her at least a few more weeks and see how she grows on me. This season of Survivor looks to be quite promising.
I missed Friday’s Wifeswap, I haven’t seen it since a few weeks back when Fowl-(mouth)-er was on the screen. I love the concept of the show. It is a very interesting social experiment, that is overly scripted at times. But watching Missourians, rednecks, patriots, military, obese, and everyone else that idiot insulted while he verbal abused the not so bright wife he borrowed was pretty gross to watch. The show not only utterly failed to serve a purpose, they should have stepped in and ended that junk early. I mean yea, the woman wasn’t perfect, so few of us really are…..I mean what would cameras reveal about YOU?!?! But she so didn’t deserve that idiot’s tirades all week…oh well, old news…..I promise to have better WifeSwap news soon!!!!
Ok, this is my first post…leave a comment or two…this was just a weekly recap of some of the reality tv I keep up with. I will try to post nightly after my favorites air, and maybe post some juicy tidbits on the reality “star”s that are born and what they are up to. As I said, weekends are kind of dry for the good shows, and this was very busy for me personally! But I was anxious to get this blog rolling and start collecting readers of “reality gossip”.
